We had the pleasure to work with Confluent and ThoughtWorks again on two Virtual Roundtables in ANZ and ASEAN. Our speakers Scott Shaw, Director of Technology, Asia Pacific, Thoughtworks, and Damien Wong, VP Asia Pacific, Confluent started the very interactive sessions with the below.
Modern digital businesses are defined by the capacity to anticipate and embrace change, rather than adapt to it after the fact. They remove areas of internal friction to support more seamless ways of working, and harness technology to identify and seize new business opportunities.
We discussed:
- Everyone is aiming for personalised real time and 1:1 relationships, from real time citizenship engagement
- As these organisations look to digitise business, they may have strong architecture layer, but if middleware layer (data) is locked in legacy data stores, then they remain burdened by data silos.
- Most organisations have been to resolve this for years with data lakes and data warehouses – been trying to stuff everything into central repository which just creates another silo.
